I started smithing after the patch that annouced the new BD armor. It was my dream to be able to make it, but I only got to 185 skill before they changed the trivials. I was around level 50 at the time. I made myself several pieces of Imbued/Enchanted dwarven plate armor, and have been happy with those ever since. Due to being a busy high school student, and spending my EQ time leveling to 57 and getting my epic, I've never raised my smithing skill past 189.
Luckily, I have a friend who is a 250 skill smith. We had agreed if I brought him the pieces for a combine and succeeded, I would give him a 3k donation. So I bought four blue diamonds, made four infused sheets and all that other stuff, and had 3k in the bank for a donation. I was hoping to have him make a BP, but if he failed on that, there would be one last sheet for a bracer attempt.
So he tries for a BP, and succeeds! He asks me for another mold. He knows that I only have 3k available for a donation to him and I give him a bracer mold. He attempts a bracer using my fourth sheet and succeeds again! He puts both pieces in the trade window, and I put 3k in their and click trade. He cancels, and puts the BP and bracer in the trade window again and clicks trade. Tells me not to worry about the 3k.
He camps very quickly, and tells me to go to the bazzar to meet his mule there. Before, I had jokingly mentioned that he owed me a few tempers that he had borrowed from me a few months ago. I assumed he wanted me to go to the bazzar to get some from his mule, although I told him it wasn't necessary (I have 100 tempers in the bank saved up). So, I'm in the bazzar with his mule, and he asks me to link him my legs. I link my Moktor greaves. He puts some underfoot greaves in the tradewindow and gives them to me, to match with my BP :) What a lucky day for me.
Did I also mention that I got my epic a few days ago, and I got my first college acceptance letter in the mail that night?
