I've been camping in the PoJ escape tunnels for about 30 hours or more now. My favorite spot so far consits of locus, bettels and wurms. I've got about 3 Crystallized Cloudy Eyes, but I have not seen a single Alkaline Etched Stone. The EQtraders list the wurms as the droppers, but I've killed around 50 of them and have had no luck. What is dropping the Alkaline Etched Stones for other people? I've hear the Golem monsters can drop them too, but I hate trying to camp them. They chain agro sooooo easy.

got one from the first mobs in after prisoner ... (on the way out not in ( )

and ppl best stay off the occasionally THIN wall to stop trains via some pretty dodgy agro rules ...

I got a pair of eyes from much further in ... on previous couple of trips ...
can't remember exact droppers

Yes they do drop from worm, specially ones near the entrance after the undead prisoner. Hunted there 3 times, few hours each and only 1 dropped. Talk about bad aggros, we had to evac 3 times and had a few deaths. It seems that either way you go from the split, eventually you get to an area where 5-10 mobs aggro on you. We are thinking about harmony pull next time but no guarantee there.

A question, the eyes, do they drop off the beetles near the entrance or do you have to go through a bunch of mobs to get to them? Thanks.

I seem to have had the opposite luck on my one trip into that area. We took the first right (away from the stone thingys) and then hunted at the next intersection for about 1-2 hours. From there, we headed right two times, which dead ends into a small cavern with 3 beetle spawns inside. We also hung out there for about an hour, then left that room, turned right, and dungeon-crawled through all of the beetles for another 1-2 hours. In that time, I collected 5 alkaline etched stones (all at or near the first junction) and only one crystallized cloudy eye. Unfortunately, you need 2 eyes per stone and I haven't had the motivation yet to go down and hunt for many more hours.

I found a sneaky way to deal with the freakish trains, using bind sight and pacification. (I'm an enchanter)

I use bind sight to 'travel' down the corridor, and as I go down I cast pacification on everything that is in range.

That technique has been effective at significantly reducing the size of the trains, although they still come.
