  • I REALLY need to Vent some

Ok last week me and my guild decided to kill the Dain.

I told them I would be come but I wouldnt be there for the faction hit cos I still need to finish the 8th shawl. Well something was Majorly screwed as for some reason even though I was indifferent to the dain mobs, they decided I was the one on the raid they wanted to aggro even though I didnt do anything to gain it

As a result I got some -ve dain hits and am now KoS, so Im going to be spending my time getting the faction back instead of working on my smithing

KOS to Dain or just Coldain?

Coldain's easy to fix by slaughtering giants and drakkel wolves. Dain is a major PITA to fix unless you can catch people killing King Tormax and leach a faction hit or two off them.

Yeah its my Dain faction thats fubar'ed I was going to pain staking efforts not to get on aggro lists for him and his cronies (like sitting back on seneschal and guards, well standing and gating out before dain went down)

If you can't get in on a Tormax raid, your best bet is to start collecting Frost giant toes and heads either killing the giants themselves, buying them, or pl/ing an alt friend or something, and just do the first two shawl quests over and over again for it. I can't imagine how long it will take, but it will probably take a while.

Tormax is really the easiest way to go. People seem to be considerate of those who just need a faction hit and will allow you to tag along on a raid if you are not part of a guild who kills him.

            I feel your pain.

I wanted to help my guild, but I was also wanting to complete my 9th ring and get ready for a ring war.

I went into the raid Max Ally Coldain and amiable to the Dain. For some reason he decided to rampage on ME while I was out of sight keeping a mob busy with the help of an enchanter and mem blur.

I left the raid KOS to both.

I know I can eventually fix the faction. It can just be so time-consuming to do so.

              I feel your pain.

I'm an enchanter. I like being non-KoS in most every city zone. But, one little slip, and ouchies.

I let myself get talked into going to Plane of Growth once. Once. For 3 kills. I'm suddenly so KoS to things in Felwithe and Kelethin that I almost cried.

"Aha!" Some cry, "Just kill the orcs in Crushbone, problem solved!"

But then I become KoS in Neriak, a rather handy place to be able to walk safely about.

So I work, a little here, a little there on faction for Felwithe and Kelethin. One day I will be safe everywhere again.

But, now I have a stock answer for people who ask me to go exp with them in place I want to keep faction, "Sorry, but I don't want to wreck my faction with (insert city name here)."

Actually if you kill in crushbone, you only end up KoS to the warrior guild tucked off in the back corner of Neriak Commons. Which certainly doesn't limit your ability to wander around Neriak.

PoG faction hits are amazing. Only took 3 kills to bottom my elf faction. Not that it started very high mind you, but it took a lot more to bottom my Qeynos guard faction.
