EQOA, Everquest Online Adventures, is due for release early Feb. As it stands at this time there aree no trade skills at all even planed for the game. Unless they, the devs, are holding them private till release but no one can say for sure. My question is if or when EQOA adds trade skills to their game would you be willing to host a board or add a section to your site for EQOA? Like I said it is unknown if trades will go in on this game but if they do go in it would be great to be able to come back to a once familiar home, from the days I played a wood elf ranger that quested to be the first to make a fleeting quiver on the test server..... That is if you remember my old persona.... After all it has been quite some time.....

Well good luck with your new boards and I will keep checking around even though I no longer play EQPC.

If I remember right, the denmom said she wasn't going to be dealing with tradeskills in other games, as dealing with what she currently does is a full time job.

What he said... and you could always start your own site for EQOA tradeskills (if they add them..) How difficult could it be? square+triangle=house... x+o = tic tac toe board... up up down down left right left right square x = uberweapon with 30 charges of res...

{grins} While I'd be more than happy to add links in to such a site, should one be started up, this is definitely not a project that I want to add to my ownoverloaded plate. This is part of the reason I made my active presence known on the DAoC Tradeskills site, to give my "seal of approval" to the folks that started that site, and to make sure that the community knew that I was GLAD someone else took the project of an EQTC-like site for other games.

There's definitely more than enough work for me to do just with focusing on an EQ tradeskills site, without adding EQOA, EQ2, AC, UO, etc., etc., etc. into the mix. All work, no play makes DenMom a really grumpy redhead who starts resenting her "work". ;)

And trust me... I've been around her when she's grumpy... not something we want to see...

Ok, I had just thought that since it was still EQ, just another version, that maybe it would still be considered as the same game. As such, if trades go in they would most likely be the same. Since however no one but the devs know if trades will go in, it is up in the air.

Honestly I don't know. Its been a while since I was around here as Gyo, so I can't remember much about anything.

Aye, that I am, which is why I refer to Ngreth as my hubby now and again. If you don't believe us, ask Spyke - he was at the wedding! :P

Awww, Spyke, I'm harmless, really I am! {smiles innocently up at the wookie with huge blue eyes, quickly hiding the colored ribbons behind her back that she'd been trying to war braid into his fur}

Yes and no. Given that the interface will be noticeably different, and they didn't "just" port over tradeskills during beta, I suspect that it's nowhere near as easy or straightforward as that. If they get tradeskills in, I suspect it will differ greatly from what we putter with over here, with different drops, recipes, etc., etc. The same goes for EQ2 when it comes out, so I'd really rather someone else tackled them. Besides which, it's rather silly for me to try to run a site for a game I've not played. ;)

So is blue ribbons + wookie fur a new receipe? and is it trivial at 250? What is the yield on the war bows and stats? and are they all/all? thanks we need the info for our database.. and if you won't share please don't talk about new or unverified receipes in these boards unless you are going to share the info because thats mean ><

seriously though.. if EQ2 comes out and you decide that it is just the greatest Killer App ever (well until EQ3) and you're always over there... have you been open to the idea of leaving this site up the way it is (once all PoP receipes are confirmed and what not) and working on a "eq2traders.com" instead?

*hugs* to Mr. and Mrs. House Ogre

I'll worry about that when/if it happens. :)

So EQ 2 is going to be a completely new game? I don't know where I got the impression that it was going to just be a massive expantion.... Man I am WAY behind the times on EQ news.

Actually, it's part of a very long, involved quest, parts of which are cultural combines that can only be performed by redheaded pack halflings.

First, you need to have max ally faction with Tech_Wookies. If you're having problems with your faction, you can try one of the following faction-modification quests: 1) feed the Tech Wookie white chocolate, 2) somehow manage to get the Tech Wookie and the House Ogre in the same spot (this quest may now be broken due to the fact that their current respawn points are on opposite ends of the continent) and let them watch WWF, 3) let the House Ogre and the Tech Wookie complete arcane networking rituals so that they can blow things up together over the 'net in one of several popular games.

If you're still having faction problems, you must break out the secret weapon of a purebred Chartreux cat of toe-slurping, and sic it on the Tech Wookie. This quest is now being reported as broken as well, due to the cat not being willing to do cross-continental travel when the DenMom's toes are much more readily-accessible on a daily basis.

Once your faction is at ally, the pack halfling must acquire many multicolored ribbons, and hide in the Tech Wookie's packs. When the Tech Wookie is distracted, or in an extremely mellow mood, the pack halfling must quickly braid ribbons into the wookie's fur to make war braids framing his face. This combine is not trivial at 250, and failure on either the right side or the left side combine can result in loss of faction.

If the combine is successful, many other steps must be completed to perform the halfling pack-tailgunner upgrade, the escort of hummingbird divebombers and the various weapons needed to turn the Tech Wookie into a full-fledged Battle Wookie with Halfling Tailgunner add-on in it's battlepacks.

I, too, may be way behind on the news, but it was my impression from somewhere that EQ2 was going to be a totally separate era timewise from EQ. As such, many things are expected to have changed in the lands of Norrath, so pretty much none of the current tradeskill information will carry over, the vendors will be different, the zones may be different, etc. I may be totally wrong on this, but, as with EQOA, I expect that it's going to be quite a bit of work to get all the information documented, etc. Definitely not something I want to think about while I'm still trying to make more hours in the day so I can nudge the database progress along at a faster pace.

I'll 2nd everything Niami says... also... single female redheaded humans do wonders for Tech_Wookie faction too. If they manage to go on a date that's instant ally!

I find raspberry cheesecake sometimes helps with wookie faction too. Helps with some hobbit factions as well!

EQ2 may actually have a tradeskiller CLASS from some of the things I have seen. (But that may jsut be Star wars galaxies... coulda sworn it was also EQ2)

I expect it to have little similarity.

There. Found it on the EQ2 Site:

Non-confrontational means of character advancement that include a completely new tradesman character class

and

All-new trade skill/crafting system

So there looks like there will be a class dedicated to it.
